Many couples look to a destination wedding as a way to have a unique and memorable wedding experience. Our Wedding professionals are true specialists. We know how important your wedding is—whether you're planning a lavish affair, an intimate gathering or a sunset ceremony. Here are some of the frequently asked questions to help get your planning started. What is our first step?
The Rio Mar Beach Resort and Spa can book wedding ceremonies seven days a week. We offer ceremonies in the Ocean Terrace, Vista Verde Garden, Wedding Gazebo and La Playa Beach Event Area. After deciding on a time frame, contact the Catering Department to check on the availability. Once the date and time have been established for your wedding, we will send you a contract outlining the wedding services that were selected. We require a $500.00 nonrefundable deposit that will secure the date, time, and location for Wedding Ceremonies. The contract must be signed and returned along with the required deposit payment in order to confirm the booking. For Wedding Receptions, we require a 10% nonrefundable deposit (of estimated charges) that will secure the date, time, and location. The contract must be signed and returned along with the required deposit payment to confirm the booking.
How far in advance do we need to book?
We encourage you to book as soon as possible. The sooner we are contacted, the better we can accommodate your request.
When do we need to make our guest room reservations?
Due to the popularity of the resort, couples are advised to make room reservations before confirming the date of their wedding. You may contact reservations at 787-888-6000 or check availability on this web site.
How do we contact someone about booking our Wedding or Reception?
In order to better serve you, please fill out the Request for Information. When it is completed click, ‘Submit’. Upon receipt of your completed form the information will be reviewed and you will receive an email linking you to an online brochure for your review. A wedding specialist from our Catering Department will be assigned to you and will contact you directly from the information you have provided on the form.
What services does the Wedding Professional do for me?
The wedding professional that is assigned to you will work with you to see through every step of the wedding planning process. The specialist will be your contact for all of the wedding ceremony and reception arrangements. Together, you will choose the music, flowers, photographer, videographer, and clergy member that you would like to perform the ceremony. They will work to help you create the design/décor and atmosphere you prefer for your reception celebration. You can relax while your specialist handles all hiring, ordering, confirmations, and coordination for everything to ensure your day will run smoothly.
How do we obtain a Marriage License?

Do we need to bring our own wedding attire?
It is recommended that the bridal couple bring their own wedding gown and tuxedo or have it shipped to the resort in advance. There is a formal wear shop close to the hotel that can provide tuxedos for the gentlemen. For an additional cost, the resort's professional Valet Laundry staff can assist with any steaming or pressing of the wedding parties’ attire as well. Please request the service at least 24 hours prior to the ceremony.
What is your payment schedule?
In order to confirm a date and time, a non-refundable deposit is required. The complete remaining balance is due 30 days before the wedding. All major credit cards are accepted for payment. For travel professionals, we do not offer discounts or commissions for any wedding services.
Do we get a discount on rooms?
The Rio Mar Beach Resort and Spa offers group room discounts for 10 or more rooms. Please contact our Catering Manager at weddings-riomar@wyndham.com for rates and availability. |
