Devil's Sentry Box, Fort San Cristóbal, Old San Juan, Puerto Rico
The Devil's Sentry Box — La Garita del Diablo — is a small, isolated guard post perched at the base of Fort San Cristóbal's ocean-facing wall, where Atlantic waves crash with relentless force against the historic fortification's ancient stone. Legend holds that a sentry stationed there vanished mysteriously one night, leaving only his lance and armor, making the garita one of Puerto Rico's most enduring folklore sites alongside its dramatic coastal setting.
