About the Artists
Carlos Davilla Rinaldi
Carlos Davila Rinaldi is a mid-career painter and sculptor living and working in Puerto Rico. Born on the island, his early years were shaped by constant travel after his family relocated to Japan during his father’s service with the United States Air Force. Following years of living throughout the Far East and the continental United States, his family returned to Puerto Rico, where he completed high school before earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from DePauw University in Indiana in 198 0. After graduating, he returned to Puerto Rico, where he has remained ever since, developing a prolific artistic practice recognized both locally and internationally. Working across both abstract and figurative styles, his work explores gesture, movement, color, and social commentary. While his abstract paintings are known for their energetic compositions and layered visual language.
Karla Morales
Karla Morales discovered her passion for photography in her early twenties after purchasing a 35mm Minolta camera, beginning a lifelong exploration of visual storytelling through travel, culture, and everyday beauty. Although she started with film photography years earlier, it was in 2 013, after receiving her first digital camera, that she fully committed herself to refining her craft through self-study, experimentation, and inspiration from photographers she admires. Based in Puerto Rico, Karla’s work is deeply influenced by the vibrant landscapes of the Caribbean and her travels around the world. Her photography captures authentic moments with a natural, atmospheric sensibility, focusing on light, tex ture, and emotion to create imagery that invites viewers to slow down and connect with their surroundings.
