Punta Higueras Lighthouse, Rincón, Puerto Rico

The Punta Higueras Lighthouse stands on a rocky headland on the northwestern tip of Puerto Rico near Rincón, a town celebrated worldwide for its exceptional surf and dramatic ocean vistas. Built in 1892 and rebuilt after the 1918 earthquake, the lighthouse continues to guide vessels through the Mona Passage, overlooking waters where humpback whales seasonally congregate and where the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean meet.
